Do you have the time?

Excuse me...
Would you happen to have the time
to sit for a while, and see about an old friend?

Do you have just a minute; hopefully you could spend it
On a good laugh, or even a much needed cry
To share the enduring tears, or a fleeting smile
It would even be nice to hold your hand, if you would lend it

Would it be too much for you
To just pick up the phone to see if I’m home
You could even leave a message
if your day is just too hectic

Do you have any time to express yourself verbally
I'll repay the cost for your thoughts, if you name the price
You can write them down, mail them UPS, Federal Express
Next day air, fragile, first class, e-mail, or even overnight

Well now,... will you look at the time
I'm sorry, it must have run out
I must be going now
I guess I'll be seeing you on the other side
Good Bye my “friend”,
