Two Different Lifestyles

You will never truly understand me
or get to know who I really am
Unless you have also experienced
who, what, and where I have been

It may never become clear to you
why I worship God the way that I do
Unless you've also committed
and been acquitted of the same types of sin

You won't always be able to teach me
The exact same way that God taught you
Because the roads that I've taken to get to this place
Were not the same roads used when He brought you

I'm not trying to cause any friction between us,
nor am I trying to bring you any grief
But just try to understand when I say to you
Sometimes there are many other differences
That go far beyond what your eyes can see
