The Gift

Jesus came to save us all,
both the young and old
God’s gift to every sinful soul
wrapped in swaddling clothes
Born in a manger, to give his life on a cross
The gift of eternal life, at no extra cost
God's Holy Spirit, here on earth in the form of man
Born of a virgin’s womb, and buried in a rich man’s tomb
He was the sacrificial lamb
He came down from Heaven to save us all from sin
When He rose from the dead and conquered death
Our eternal life began
It was a gift to the world paid in full
Not in earthly currency
He died on the cross to pay the price
A ransom paid by His blood, for you and me
