I'm not the one

As much as I love you
I'm not the one
To wipe every tear from your eyes
or to take away all of the pain inside

As beautiful as you are to me
I can't possibly be there for you unconditionally
No matter where or when you're ever feeling lonely
I would love to always be that perfect man
but the only one I know who really qualifies
is the great, I AM

Please don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say to you
I love you with every part of me
that God will allow me to share
If I could, I would, for the rest of my life
be that perfect man for you
And I would always be there

I love you, but I'm really not the one that you seek
There is yet another, who is so much better than me
A much better friend, a better provider, even a better lover
His name is Jesus, the Christ; he's God's only begotten son
As much as I do love you, and would love to be that man for thee
I hate to say it, but I'm not the one
