Hello, My Name Is John

My name means, “God is Gracious”
And that's just what He is to me
He touched my body to rise again this morning
Allowing me another day that I have never seen

Yes, I can see, that God is indeed gracious
He continues to give me the strength that I need
My comfort is in knowing
That he holds the world in the palm of his hand
And because He is gracious, that’s where you'll find me

Before I was born He named me, and He gave me grace
Before I was formed in the circle of my mother's womb
He had already numbered each hair and sculpted my face
He had placed all the tools that I would need inside of me
Every gift that I would ever receive
was already granted to me before I finished the race

His word reveals the direction I need to get to my destination
My identity, contains my encouragement times infinity
Because everyone who calls me by the name He gave me
Reminds me of God's grace, so amazing
And gracious, that’s just what He is to me
