If You Only Knew

If you only knew how long I’ve been waiting
To hold you here in my arms
To comfort and protect you, from all the things in life
That come to do you harm

If you only knew how long I’ve been calling you
But you just keep walking away from me
Even after dying on the cross for you
When I speak, you still won’t take heed

If you only knew the pain that I have gone through
While you continue to crucify me everyday
Yet you want me to continue to bless you, and protect you
When you won’t even take the time to pray

Time after time I keep forgiving your sins
My arms have always been opened wide to welcome you in
If you only knew, how much I really love you
You wouldn’t continue to do the things that you do
